Where the guests were asked about the art creating love stories, Karan Johar’s take took everyone by surprise, the actor-director-producer whose last directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) had love story at its core surrounded by several taboos in the society being addressed
Because A- we were hit by the Pandemic and I was prepping for a film called "Takht" for which I had prepped for 2 and a half years. For Various Reasons, I realized logistically it was impossible for me to make Takht.

"I don’t know anything about the male female dynamics. It is actually completely alien to me personally. I grew up on the romance and fodder of love in Hindi cinema. Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra and vintage Guru Dutt. All i Was doing was deriving from cinema."

"I never viewed it as a love story. I viewed it as my homage to hindi cinema. Everything I grew up on. You know all the song references, the characters the cultural differences. What I did want to do is within that bring in a commentary of things I believe very strongly about."
