Todd Haynes' film, starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, had its world premiere at Cannes and earned a 6-minute standing ovation at the festival’s Grand Palais.
Martin Scorsese’s film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone, received a nine-minute standing ovation. The film was screened at Grande Theatre Lumiere, prior to which they walked the red carpet.
