Life Is Beautiful (1997)

This is a comedy drama film directed by Roberto Benigni. The film is about Guido Orefice, a Jewish Italian bookshop owner, who uses his imagination, humour and optimism to protect his son from the horrors of Nazi Germany.

This is a drama film directed by Peter Weir, about the life of Truman Burbank, a man who grows up living an ordinary life, unaware of the fact that it all takes place as part of a reality television show about him. 

Mathilukal (1990)  

This is a film written and directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. The film shows the prison life of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and how he falls in love with Narayani, a female inmate on the other side of the wall.

This is a prison drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont,  based on the book, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephan King. The film tells the story of a man who is sentenced to life for killing his wife and her lover, despite his plea for innocence.

Fight Club (1999) 

This is a thriller action film, directed by David Fincher, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk. The story follows the unnamed narrator, who meets Tyler Durden, a man that liberates him from the confines of his cookie cutter life. 

Satya (1998) 

This is a crime film, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, written by Saurabh Shukla and Anurag Kashyap. The story follows the journey of an innocent man who gets involved with the underworld after being falsely charged and he sets out to earn his revenge.
