The best-known woman character in the MCU is Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson since The Avengers. An adept assassin and combatant, she came up through the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. to ultimately join the Avengers.

Peggy Carter

Played by Hayley Atwell, Peggy is one of the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger as Steve Rogers' love interest before securing her own show in Agent Carter.

Yelena Belova

Florence Pugh played this character who is a sister of Natasha Romanoff. Yelena is also a member of the Black Widows, and is determined to avenge her sister's death.

Captain Marvel

Played by Oscar winner Brie Larson, the character was the first woman to get an individual film in the MCU. Captain Marvel goes by Carol Danvers in day-to-day life and is a former Air Force pilot who gained superpowers after being exposed to the Tesseract which contained the Infinity Stones.

Ms. Marvel

Played by Iman Vellani, the character is Ms. Marvel by night and Kamala Khan by day. She is from a family of Pakistani immigrants, and has a magic bangle which she uses to deploy her powers in Ms. Marvel and The Marvels.

Monica Rambeau

Played by Teyonah Parris, the character first appeared in WandaVision, and possesses the power to transform any type of energy.
