The Shawshank Redemption (1994) 

This is a prison drama written and directed by Frank Darabont. The film tells the story of banker Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins who is sentenced to a life in jail for the murders of his wife and her lover, despite his plea for innocence.

Footloose (1984) 

This is a musical drama film directed by Herbert Ross. It tells the story of Ren McCormack, played by Kevin Bacon. He plays a teenager who attempts to overturn the ban on dancing, instituted by a local minister. 

Iron Man (2008) 

This action sci-fi directed by Jon Favreau, tells the story of Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr. He plays an industrialist who is captured and has to construct a high-tech armour suit to escape. Once he is free, he uses his new power to fight against evil.

Donnie Brasco (1997)

This is a crime drama film directed by Mike Newell, starring Al Pacino and Johnny Depp. The plot follows an undercover FBI agent who infiltrates one of the five crime families in New York and eventually, the tables turn. 

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) 

This is a fantasy romantic drama directed by David Fincher. The storyline is loosely based on a short story of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The film stars Brad Pitt as a man who ages in reverse. 

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

This is a gothic romantic fantasy film directed by Tim Burton. The film stars Johnny Depp as an unfinished artificial humanoid who has scissor blades instead of hands. He is taken in by a suburban family and he ends up falling in love with their teenage daughter.
