Sherlock Holmes 3

After two instalments directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the fabled detective from 221B Baker Street and Jude Law as Doctor Watson, a third was announced with Dexter Fletcher attached as director but is yet to materialise.

The Adventures of Tintin 2

After the smash-hit that was the Steven Spielberg-helmed The Secret of the Unicorn, a sequel was expected to be released a few years later with the first film's co-producer Peter Jackson directing, and while Jackson has reiterated his desire to make the film as recently as 2018, there doesn't appear to be any sign of it releasing anytime soon.

Jagga Jasoos 2

The climax of the Anurag Basu musical adventure teased a sequel that would star, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, a two-headed villain played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui but the film's disappointing box office returns meant plans for a sequel were shelved.

World War Z Sequel

The horror actioner featuring Brad Pitt in the lead role was deemed worthy of a sequel by Paramount Pictures, and the film was officially announced in 2017 with David Fincher set to take over directorial duties from Marc Foster. Delays and an anti-zombie ruling by the Government of China forced Paramount to cancel the sequel entirely.

Go Goa Gone 2

Announced with much fanfare and a release date set for 2021, the sequel to Raj and DK's zombie comedy starring Saif Ali Khan, Vir Das, Kunal Kemmu, and Anand Tiwari is yet to enter production.

Dostana 2

A sequel to the 2008 film starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra entered production with Collin D'Cunha directing and Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya starring, but the film was scrapped midway through principal photography.

The Man from UNCLE Sequel

While a sequel was teased at the end of the film and even touted to be in the works in 2017, it seems unlikely that the Cold War adventures of Solo and Kuryakin will go any further than the rambunctious Guy Ritchie film, what with the passage of time and the abuse allegations against Armie Hammer.
