Farah Khan approached Hrithik Roshan to once again play the role of Shah Rukh Khan's younger brother after Kabhi khushi Kabhie Gham. However, after the success of his film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Roshan rejected the role.
Reportedly, Abhishek Bachchan was also offered the role of Khan's younger brother. However, it did not work out and Zayed Khan bagged the role at the last minute.
Before Amrita Rao, Ayesha Takia was being considered for Rao's role but she turned it down because of another film.
The extremely memorable antagonist of Main Hoon Na was offered to Kamal Hassan before Suniel Shetty. However, he rejected due to scheduling issues.
