Raghavan and References

Team FC

Peppered with posters, songs & clips from yesteryears, he often integrates these with the visual grammar of his films.
Take Andhadhun - Aishwarya Rai's posters are plastered inside out in an auto - not unlike one you would find on your street corner. He cleverly uses their ubiquity to further baffle the audience as to whether our protagonist really is blind.
"I feel most people these days don't know about films from the 70s. They will just disappear and so I try my best sometimes to get something inside from those films. Of course, it has to be relevant to my story. I cannot do it as an indulgence," Raghavan told PTI in an interview.
In fact with Andhadhun he went all out - featuring a character playing a fading 70s superstar - and the writers, editors and set designers ran riot with posters, clips and songs from that era.
Here we've compiled some (visual) references we spotted in his oeuvre.
