This week, Dangal becomes the first-ever Hindi film to cross the 350-crore mark at the domestic box office. The much-spoken about ‘100-crore club’ started with Ghajini (December 2008). But to know when the 50-crore club started, we have to go back, all the way to 1994.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun (HAHK) was the first film to cross the 50-crore mark. It took 14 long years before the 50 became 100. Thereafter, it has been an Aamir Khan show all the way, as suggested by the chart below.

Dangal will fall short of the 400-crore mark. But going by the trend, it will take another Aamir Khan film to achieve that!
