- Ghajini (2008) broke the record of the highest first-day collections, held at that time by Singh Is Kinng, by almost Rs 2 cr. Ghajini also went on to become the first film to enter the now famous Rs. 100 cr. club.
- 3 Idiots (2009) broke Ghajini’s first-day record by Rs. 4 cr. a year later. It also became the first Hindi film to cross Rs. 200 cr. at the domestic box office.
- After three years of no records and no Aamir Khan on Christmas, Dhoom 3 (2013) broke the record of the highest first-day, and went on to become the first Hindi film to cross a domestic business of Rs. 250 cr. nett.
- PK (2014) became the highest lifetime grosser at the domestic box office, overtaking Dhoom 3 by more than Rs. 75 cr. It also became the first Hindi film to cross Rs. 300 cr. nett at the domestic box office.
